This notice explains how Revalidate collects, uses, stores, and deletes personal information when you use the Revalidate mobile app and related services.
We are committed to handling personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently, including when processing data needed to provide core app features such as account access, portfolio tracking, reminders, and subscription management.
Who we are
Revalidate Ltd provides a mobile app that helps healthcare professionals manage evidence and records for revalidation and professional development.
Data we collect
- Account and profile data, such as name, email address, role, and registration details.
- User-provided content, such as work hours, CPD logs, reflective entries, feedback entries, and uploaded documents.
- Subscription metadata needed to manage premium feature access and account status.
- Technical and usage data, such as device and app diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service.
- Notification-related data, including device push tokens, used to send reminders and service messages when enabled.
How we collect data
- Directly from you when you create an account, complete profile fields, or add records in the app.
- When you upload files or images through app features that require camera or photo/library access.
- From account and app activity needed to maintain entitlement state and feature access.
- Automatically from app and infrastructure logs to maintain reliability and security.
How we use data
- Provide core app functionality, including record tracking, portfolio support, and reminders.
- Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent misuse of the service.
- Manage subscription state and premium feature access.
- Respond to support requests and service communications.
- Maintain, monitor, and improve app performance and service quality.
Permissions and sensitive access
- Camera and photo/library access are requested only in context for evidence upload and profile-related media actions.
- Notification permission is requested in context for reminders and important app updates.
- The app does not request SMS, Call Log, background location, accessibility service, or all-files access permissions.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers that support app operations such as hosting, authentication, payment processing (RevenueCat / the platform stores), and notifications. These providers process data only for agreed service purposes and under contractual safeguards.
Subscriptions
We store subscription metadata needed to manage entitlement state and feature access in the app. All payments are processed by Apple or Google through their respective in-app purchase systems; we do not see or store your payment card details.
Data retention
We keep data only for as long as needed to provide services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. Retention periods depend on data category and legal requirements.
Account deletion and your rights
You can request deletion of your account from within the app at Profile → Delete Account. You can also use our web deletion form at /delete-account if you cannot access the app. Some records may be retained where legally required or necessary for security and fraud prevention.
International transfers
If data is processed outside your country, we apply appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data protection law.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure.
Age requirement
The app is intended for adults and professional users. You must be at least 18 years old to use Revalidate.
Policy updates
We may update this notice from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by changing the last updated date.
